Change Vs Reform

After listening to the latest comments from John McCain and VP nominee Sarah Palin about how they are going to “Reform” Washington made me curious on what exactly reform means.  Reform is known as a beneficial change big or small.  It’s a broad word that can mean “revolution” or “fine tuning”.  I think this appeals to more people because on one hand the conservative republicans may believe that McCain/Palin are just going to stir things up a little but not really change anything which would still be consistent with the definition.  On the other hand more liberal people may see this as a revolution that will ultimately change the entire system itself.

Obama on the other hand says he wants to “Change” Washington.  Change is a simpler word meaning to make different.  This term seems to be much clearer and direct.  But at the same time it doesn’t mean good change or bad change.  You would have to listen to Obama’s message to figure out if this is the change for you.

So in retrospect, is reform or change better?  Lets leave that answer to the voters.
